Cloud 9 – the contemporary music platform launched on Saturday 10th of August 2013 at Villa Medici, Victoria Island, Lagos. Cloud 9 is the next level of music; Nigeria’s first music series that brings unique music performances from the most iconic music legends alongside breakthrough artistes.
Cloud 9 will feature live musical performances that blend high life music from prominent artistes with contemporary music by up and coming artistes.
For the inaugural edition featuring renowned Afro juju musician, Sir Shina Peters and rising soul singer, Seyi Shay, Etisalat and Hennessy unveiled a communication network between fans of high life and contemporary music; a medium that aids easy interaction.
Guests were welcomed into the Etisalat-branded venue with continuous cocktails provided by Hennessy and canapés by Villa Medici restaurant. The evening started with special rendition of Seyi Shay’s hit songs ‘Irawo’, ‘Loving Your Way’ and ‘No Lele’ followed by energizing turn of performances by the live band. Proceeding into the night, the star artistes – Sir Shina Peters and Seyi Shay engaged audience in a sing-along to Shina Peters past hits including the popular ‘Afro Juju’.
